Meet the baker

My name is Michelle Caltagirone, I am a 31-year-old military wife, and Mother of two sweet boys (4 years old and 4 months old) who I love beyond measure. I was born and raised in South Florida, but living the military lifestyle has expanded my horizons more than I could have imagined! We have been stationed in Ft. Peirce, Florida; Abbeville, Louisiana; New Orleans, Louisiana; Cape Cod, Massachusetts; and now we are currently living in Picayune, Mississippi while my husband is stationed in Venice, Louisiana! If you can't tell by now, Louisiana has stolen our heart!

I started Cookies By The Shore in 2020 in the midst of Covid and being stuck in the house. I have always had a passion for baking since I was tall enough to reach the kitchen counter, and the thought of making a living doing what I am so passionate about felt like only a dream. One day I decided to try decorating sugar cookies to pass the time, and after giving away a few batches to friends and co-workers, they finally convinced me to start selling them! I received my cottage food law permit and off to the races I went. I have grown so much as a business, baker, a wife and a Mother since I started, and I cannot be more thankful for my clients. Without you all, this dream of mine would never have taken off!

I promise to do my best to provide the best tasting and best looking cookies to every client. Custom orders are created with love just for you. Please keep in mind that no two pieces of art made by people are ever exactly alike! Every order is hand-made. I take the event and occasion for each order to heart, and truly put my all into each detail. Knowing you are trusting me to take part in lifelong memories for your family and friends is why I have such a passion doing what I do!
